What it costs
A typical Level 2 charger installation runs from several hundred dollars for a short garage run to low four figures for long runs, trenching, or a panel with no room left. Charger hardware is quoted separately or supplied by you.
EV Chargers questions
- How fast is a Level 2 home charger?
- A 40–48 amp Level 2 charger typically adds roughly 25–35 miles of range per hour, so most EVs recharge fully overnight. Level 1 on a standard outlet adds about 3–5 miles per hour.
- Should I hardwire the charger or use a 14-50 outlet?
- Hardwiring supports higher amperage and is generally more reliable outdoors. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is convenient if you may move or swap chargers. We will tell you which fits your panel and location.
- Can you install a charger outside?
- Yes. We use weather-rated equipment and proper exterior conduit, including trenched runs to detached garages.
