Hot Tub Wiring questions
- Does a hot tub need its own disconnect?
- Yes. Code requires a GFCI-protected disconnect at least five feet from and within sight of the spa, so anyone can cut power without reaching over the water.
- Can I plug in a hot tub instead of hardwiring it?
- Only plug-and-play 120V models. Any 240V spa requires a hardwired dedicated circuit with a GFCI disconnect.
